My name is Rob, and I make it easier to put your thoughts into numbers!

I’m a chartered accountant by nature, but I offer much more!  I help people take their general business idea, think through the business model, strategy, market analysis and most importantly put it all together with a financial model.  Too many accountants can only take the numbers you give them and put these into a financial model.  I help people figure out what their entire business is going to look like and then put it together in one package.  It doesn’t matter if you need a full business plan or just a financial model to figure out if you can make any money with your idea.  I can help you at either end of the spectrum.  My clients have ranged from manufacturing, retail, online, social media and professional services.  It does not matter what type of business you are in, with my board business experience, I can help gather your ideas, pour through the data, and help you put your thoughts and ideas together and improve your profits!

My clients usually fall into two types:

1. New Start-up companies who are just starting out.  Either they have just launched or are working through the ideas and business case, OR

2. Small companies that are in business, could really use a CFO (financial wiz) but can not afford to hire a full time person.

A lot of people will just generally say what they can do, you contact them and then they figure out how much things might cost.  I actually give you costs!

Full Business Plan $850
This is for a standard 30-35 page business plan. I provide you with a questionnaire that you will need to fill out.  This will ask a number of questions about your business.  Hopefully most you will have already thought of, but a number you will not have.  I then review your answers and start to develop your plan.  There is a back and forth as I start to work though the plan.  We chat (if local in person, if not skype, email, etc) and work through your business idea.  After usually about a week I’ll provide you a draft.  My clients then usually take a few days to review and give some comments and questions.  I make some changes and revisions.  One of the most critical parts is walking my clients through the assumptions that have gone into building the financials to the plan.  These are what you really need to understand what is driving the business.  If you are going to get funding and loans, whoever you are presenting too will want to see you really understand how you built your financials.  More often then not, if you can show confidence in this aspect of your business plan, your lender is going to feel much better!  This is what I really take the time to make sure you fully understand and can defend your business plan.

Full Financial Model $350
This is a full financial model build up of your business.  My clients start by answering a few questions from my questionnaire about their business.  I then start putting together a full 3-5 year financial model which includes:
-Profit and Loss (Income Statement)
-Balance Sheet
-Cash Flow
After this draft is prepared, I provide a draft and walk you though my assumptions.  Because this is so key that you understand how the financials are built, I keep my models very simple and take the time to explain it to you.

CFO Hours

Depending on your hours and needs, I can provide weekly or monthly packages (hourly, retainer) for your business. Some clients are looking for someone to help will their monthly close, others monthly board reporting packages and adhoc analysis.  Depending on your situation, we can find the right arrangement.  In unique cases, I have helped clients for no money at all!

One On One Consulting $50/hour

There is so much info out there, that after a day or two, you might feel like you’ve been running in a circle and still don’t know where to start. This is why a one on one consulting service works well with some people.

There is so much to think about, my one on one helps people put together their ideas, lay out a battle plan, and start executing! Too many people will read and read and never actually start a business. Some people need that real life support to help getting things rolling and give them the confidence to start a business.

One on one consulting isn’t really what my mantra is, but I find that often there are great ideas out there and people asking me to help with their business as an adviser, which is what I do really enjoy!
